Welcome to
the SIBL rules page. elow you will find an outline of the rules
and an idea of the structure to the day. If you are unsure on
anything please speak to a judge on the day or email
Sam
before hand.

Ages:

Juniors under 16.

Open 16 +

Juniors must be under 16 on the day of the
first event. Please bring Proof of ID in
case age is questioned. Failure To produce
ID will result in being moved from the junior
category and into the open and the score for
that round will not count towards the
league. If you Produce ID at the next event,
you will then get your score back.

SIBL Structure.

Southern Indoor Bouldering
League is what it
says in the title. So the emphasis will be on
just that - the league. 6 rounds – culminating
in a series winner. League winners will be
announced at the final round.

Outline comp structure

20 Problems, 6 rounds with
4
categories - Male Open, Female Open, Male Juniors and
Female Juniors. (If less that 10
people enter any category then those entrants
will be moved to next appropriate category)

Junior catergories are open to
anyone under 16 on the day of the first event. The
open catergories are for anyone 16 and above. Each round we will end with
a 1st, 2nd, 3rd
in each category for which a prize will be
awarded.

Head to head.
The top 5 scores from the open
event will be entered into the famous SIBL head
to head to battle out for glory. To find out

Times
Registration starts at 10am
with the comp starting at 11am sharp,
competition ends at 3pm sharp with the head to
head and prize giving before 4pm. Times are
subject to change so please keep an eye on the
information posted about each round which can be
found on the homepage

Warm Up
between 10am & 11am routes
may be inspected and cleaned and only holds you can reach from the floor maybe touched. To clean, other holds must be used
and comp holds brushed. Anyone touching holds
will have their score cards marked as an
attempt.

JUDGES
This is a fun competition
based on honesty, Please have fun and stay
within the rules cheating just causes bad
feeling and causes us grief. Have your attempts
scored by someone who does not know you -
preferably a SIBL Judge.

Scoring
Slight changes to scoring
this year an on sight flash gets 10 points,
second try gets 7 points, and success on 3rd
try gets 3points but you can continue trying the
problem and if you succeed before the 3pm
deadline you will get 1 point.

Bonus Points.
Five bonus points will be available to each
category at all of the rounds. Please see the
bonus sheet displayed at the front desk to see
where these are.
