Categories:

  • Male Open
  • Female Open
  • Male Junior
  • Female Junior

Ages:

  • Juniors under 16.
  • Open 16 +

Juniors must be under 16 on the day of the first event. Please bring Proof of ID in case age is questioned. Failure To produce ID will result in being moved from the junior category and into the open and the score for that round will not count towards the league. If you Produce ID at the next event, you will then get your score back.

SIBL Structure.

  • Southern Indoor Bouldering League is what it says in the title. So the emphasis  will be on just that - the league. 6 rounds – culminating in a series winner.  League winners will be announced at the final round.
  • Outline comp structure
  •  20 Problems, 6 rounds with 4 categories  - Male Open, Female Open, Male Juniors and Female Juniors.  (If less that 10 people enter any category then those entrants will be moved to next appropriate category)
  • Junior catergories are open to anyone under 16 on the day of the first event. The open catergories are for anyone 16 and above. Each round we will end with a 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each category for which a prize will be awarded.
  • Head to head. The top 5 scores from the open event will be entered into the famous SIBL head to head to battle out for glory. To find out more about the 2009/10 Head to head along with rules and prizes please click here.
  • Times Registration starts at 10am with the comp starting at 11am sharp, competition ends at 3pm sharp with the head to head and prize giving before 4pm. Times are subject to change so please keep an eye on the information posted about each round which can be found on the homepage
  • Warm Up between 10am & 11am routes may be inspected and cleaned and only holds you can reach from the floor maybe touched. To clean, other holds must be used and comp holds brushed. Anyone touching holds will have their score cards marked as an attempt.
  • JUDGES This is a fun competition based on honesty, Please have fun and stay within the rules cheating just causes bad feeling and causes us grief. Have your attempts scored by someone who does not know you - preferably a SIBL Judge.
  • Scoring Slight changes to scoring this year an on sight flash gets 10 points, second try gets 7 points, and success on 3rd try gets 3points but you can continue trying the problem and if you succeed before the 3pm deadline you will get 1 point.
  • Bonus Points. Five bonus points will be available to each category at all of the rounds. Please see the bonus sheet displayed at the front desk to see where these are.
