Competition climbing.
The
title itself puts a lot of people of, but why? Most
people think of comps as loads of hard climbers
battling out for glory, well this is true to a
point. At SIBL the whole point is to have fun, yes
there are climbers there just to win, just for the
title of southern indoor bouldering champ. But most
people think, there is no point I will never win.
You should always approach a comp as a fun day out,
Its not about winning, or getting prizes. But at
SIBL you can forget all that because everyone has a
chance to win a prize. The new fun, novice comp has
a raffle format, so rather than first second and
third place prizes, your name is just simply added
into a raffle for the prizes. This gives everyone a
fair chance to win something. Along side this there
is also spot prizes awarded throughout the day, for
things like, most time spent on a route, best fall,
best style and even things like best costume. So
come on, come along, have a good day and who knows
you may enjoy it.
